Are you alright there, darling?

Coyly, he turns to her and replies, with a touch of hesitation he points and says

It’s in my eyes.

She giggles the way she typically does when her husband weeps at the TV,

When he can’t hold it in, when grown men cry, and show their sensitivity.

It’s not that he thinks that men shouldn’t cry, that men shouldn’t be sensitive, or that they cannot be shy,

It’s just that… They look broken. Completely, and irreparably destroyed by the emotion that’s left them shook up and heart broken.
